About Me

My photo
I live in Kent with my husband, toddler Tilly (henceforth known as Monkey) and another baby due in November. We have two cats, Duncan and Lady Macbeth, and four chickens who kindly lay us eggs daily. We live in the picturesque seaside town of Broadstairs. I enjoy reading, knitting and cooking. I'm trying to be a bit 'greener' (not sure how successfully), and to be a gentle parent. Extended breastfeeding and co-sleeping don't freak me out, we use cloth nappies and try to follow some of the ideals of Attachment Parenting. If that sounds as if I know what I'm doing, I don't! I am also a psychotherapist with an interest in Focusing-oriented therapy, and I have a small private practice in the area.

Rainbow Bookshelf

I love this rainbow bookshelf (photo from here) and I've probably got enough books to recreate it but... how would you ever find the book you needed?!

True... but how very cool! I love bookcases full stop (even better when they're full of books)! x

It's so funky isn't it? It's a system for interior designers though, not book lovers. Mine are by subject, like you said, how would you find anything!?

Oh my, that is gorgeous!!
I am not sure I would be neat enough to get them all back to their spots : )

I suggested colour ordering to hubby when we completely emptied and reordered ours a few weeks back (The living room has *8* BILLYS chock FULL of books).

Being sensible and not thinking aethstetically (and I know that is spelt wrongly!!) he went for subject order so know the colours are a jumble and the heights are all mixed up.

Oh yeah - I love it :)

I think it would work for me (if I um, could find the time to do it) because my books are just random crazy anyway.....

actually no they are not, I just realised I have, say, parenting books together :)

So cool though :)

Also so cool about your 3lbs! I am cheering you on as you change your lifestyle :)

lol I love it! I guess you'd really have to be a visual person to find your books though. I would love something this eye-catching in my home.
