About Me

My photo
I live in Kent with my husband, toddler Tilly (henceforth known as Monkey) and another baby due in November. We have two cats, Duncan and Lady Macbeth, and four chickens who kindly lay us eggs daily. We live in the picturesque seaside town of Broadstairs. I enjoy reading, knitting and cooking. I'm trying to be a bit 'greener' (not sure how successfully), and to be a gentle parent. Extended breastfeeding and co-sleeping don't freak me out, we use cloth nappies and try to follow some of the ideals of Attachment Parenting. If that sounds as if I know what I'm doing, I don't! I am also a psychotherapist with an interest in Focusing-oriented therapy, and I have a small private practice in the area.

Thank goodness for Mummy Milk

Poor Monkey is suffering this week with her teeth and a cough & cold. She is barely eating and as a result we are breast-feeding LOTS. Which I need to keep reminding myself of, because I do worry when she doesn't eat. And I get to eat lots of yummy things because I'm feeding both of us :-)

Thanks Nina/ Joxy. She was coughing a lot when I put her down tonight but she seems to be in a deeper sleep now, poor mite.
As for the packing, that's all being done by the removal company. Today I did a major cull on the kitchen, going through all the cupboards and drawers and (not very green) throwing away unnecessary/ out of date items. Will be doing lots of freecycling as well this weekend. Off to Ramsgate in the morning to drop the cats off at the cattery until the move is over!

Glad she's sleeping deeper now, hopefully she'll feel better in the morning.

Ohhh, now that is a plan :) In the past I've always moved myself and it's been a killer... but when I moved to Folkestone I got a removal van in and wow, it was fantastic! I did the packing myself... but next time I move I think I'll save up and have it all done because, wow, just having them move my stuff was so much easier! Not having to pack either would be bliss lol.

And remember that the breastmilk is PERFECT for her, so even if she's not eating lots of other food, she's got a pretty good start right there. :)
